Shared Topic Idea: My Most Memorable Boss Kill

Hi guys, this shared topic idea was brought to you by dragonray of Azerothian Life, it seems like its been back and forth between me and her sharing topics every week lately, Please I do encourage all bloggers out there to join and share any topics you think we can discuss around the community, just please go to Blog Azeroth Forums for more info. 

Anyway, this week's topic is about most memorable boss kill. I was going through some of my old boss kill videos i made back in 2009 during ToGC raids with FACTION CHAMPIONS in 25 man Normal Mode. It was fun times. I was with Eternal Sacrifice guild then in Khaz Modan server when we killed these bosses. It was memorable because not only i was able to catch the videos of these fights, I was able to do it with guild that I had fun with. 

FACTION CHAMPIONS - 25 MAN NORMAL MODE

This fight was very memorable not only that we had to fight 4 bosses, all of us was running around the room, I was playing my priest here as discipline spec. my job was to dispell, bubbles, and heals as well. as you can see in this video. All bosses are and players also running around but with symbols on bosses head we know who to kill first, Tanks and healers really did a great job and so as the dpsers.. Hope you guys will enjoy watching it. I really had fun times with my guild when we killed it. This expansion was great and we always looking forward to raid because the arena and killing of these bosses was kinda hard but challenging because its a close encounter in a closed space.

Gears, Guild, Raid and More!

Hi guys, I know it's been a week since I came back to gaming and blogging. Just thought to share that my first week raiding with my guild Vagrants in Staghelm server was okay. At first I thought since it's Tuesday I might not able to get a spot to raid with them but I did. We cleared the bosses up until Ragnaros, of course as I learned the mechanics of the fight while watching all the Tankspot videos, still I have to ask our raid leader to give me an overview on how my guild does it because different guild has different strategies and especially in 10 mans because we have to adjust the position and assignments.

My Guild Made the Panda Sad

A month being away from my keyboard and raiding in game it seems like it's been a year since I last logged in. I talked to my guild master about our recent guild progression and She said that everything was great and our guild actually finished the normal mode of Firelands on farm mostly every week. I am happy to know that everything was fine. They are pretty much geared to the tooth and ready to kill some heroic mode bosses.

Guild Updates: Nefarian and Al'akir dead!

Hi guys, I just thought to share a great raid night we had last night, even though I know the bosses in Blackwing Descent and Throne of the Winds are nerfed after Patch 4.2 released, still a good feeling to kill the end boss of both dungeons. I still consider that we did put effort of clearing the content, and even before the nerfed we attempted it to learn the mechanics of the fight. I am glad that content is cleared, I don't know about any decision yet if we are pushing to also try heroic or just forward our progression to Firelands, But whatever my guild's decision I know it will all be worth it and it will be fun.

A Welcome Wagon and a Great Guild!

Hi guys, Today is Thursday Guild updates and Dungeon runs. Lately in my new guild Vagrants in Staghelm been really fun, but Tuesday night I was not feeling well so I only spent to join them in killing 3 bosses and logged off, I was thankful they understand me. So far running Dungeon this week was exhausting for me, I was getting tired of running it. not to brag but I have total of 4390 Valor tokens, 4000 justice points and I don't pvp to even buy gears for it. So pretty much its stack there. I know there are some BoE items that I could sell but the economy right now with the Valor BoE items is not really much now a days because of the new dungeon Zul Aman and Zul Gurub that has equivalent value for item level 357.

But anyway, besides being in my new guild and raiding with them, they actually decided to promote me to officer yesterday. I guess I need to step up my game and get back my energy to help the guild more. I haven't been fishing lately for our seafood feasts. Now that I am an officer, I wish I can do the job well, I know just being in that position members of the guild will expect that you are good role model to them. and execute how to play my class as well. But everyone is not perfect including myself, but I'll do my best though, So far my overall stay in the guild has been great and I am currently friendly now with my Vagrants reputation from being exalted in previous guild but its okay it will be fast to gain it back again.

GoodBye Vanquish, Hello Vagrants!

Hi guys, As everyone noticed Blogger was having problems and they did a huge maintenance since 20.5 hours ago, and that's one of the reason why I wasn't able to post anything. But to caught up on things I like to share to you that I left my previous guild Vanquish in Staghelm server, The reason was not that I hate anyone in the guild but I just chose to be in a 10 man environment with Vagrants guild.

I applied in Vanquish to be a raider and raided with them for at least 3months but due of cutting down some classes because we had a lot of healers I was asked to get demoted to social it was also because I was having internet and disconnection issues and I don't want to let the guild suffer if we wipe, So I totally understand. 

I was a social member then, after few months past there was an opening and I reapply, glad they considered and I raided at least a month, but the problem was they asked me to dps so I changed spec to shadow, I was learning my class and did a decent job dpsing, but one shadow priest who had disconnection issues too came back and raid, so They had to demote me again because shes back and good to raid. I know what your thingking, I've been tosed around, promoted then demoted it kinda sucks, But I stayed cool and respect there decision.

While spending my time in Vanquish, I dont want to sit and wait. So I gained a few friends with Vagrants guild and told me they needed a shadow priest to run with for 10 man content So I took the offer, been running with them for close to 2months. I also realized that why stay in a guild if I am not raiding with them anymore besides just doing dailies and running heroics. 

So I decided to join Vagrants. The schedule and just runnigng 10 man for me was far more comfortable and I was having fun. I still love all the people in Vanquish and I will not forget them, it was one of the most welcomed guild I ever been since I was playing WoW besides my own guild that I managed back in Burning Crusade. I did not regret being in Vanquish, they did taught me a lot of things and I was able to play my class better.

I could have stayed longer in Vanquish but I was not having fun anymore, I noticed there was lack of team work, too much favoritisms, and no acknoledgement to the players who also put effort on helping the guild (like myself). So that was the downfall and people started to leave the guild, there was actually about close to 10 members who left before me, so I am hoping that the officers in the guild will let other members get involved more. and not just pick and choose who you run with. We are in a guild and Team work and get acquainted with each other will get us closer and will be successful in a long run.

Now, that I am in Vagrants guild. I am happy to just enjoy raiding with 10 man content, I know it could be a challenge but it will be a strong team to go and raid. It will be fun for sure. So I am excited and willing to help out Vagrants in everything I can. I am happy to be in a new guild and It is something I can look forward to each week, and Kill some end game bosses!

Also, I was trying out Rift MMO yesterday, So Far it looks great! and I love the quest line. its always interesting to explore new mmo game. I have yet to find out more of it in the upcoming days. Just don't want to lose my attention to World of Warcraft because it is still my number 1 mmo game. =D Have a good one guys!

The Few, The proud, The Elite Raiders.

Hi guys, Today's Latest News is about my guild in Staghelm server. Lately, we just lost a great player in the guild and It was a sad day for everyone, because we really didn't know what happened as he only left us a message in the forums by saying "I am leaving the guild. Thank you for the invite and letting me raid here." It makes me ask myself Why? Is it really because the lack of motivation of other raiders/leadership that drives another player to just guild quit?

One of our guild council in Vanquish named Shadow shared a great thoughts about Elite raiders. In response to his post, I will follow his format and will have similar discussion of what he posted in our forums. "There is ultra simple order to things if you want to be of this Elite Raider" and To his knowledge people try to skip to get there, So he call this orders the "PEAKS". So I will share my point of views based on my own raiding experiences and narrate what "PEAKS" means to me too. 

Every now and then we often hear players saying "I want to be an elite raider" or something along those lines. I've been raiding since long before it was popular and one thing never changes. Everyone wants to eat the cake but no one wants to go through the steps of making it (or Pie if you like that better). 

P for Preparation = Every raider know there classes inside and out, that includes specs, gears, gemming, min/maximizing gear, having a decent offset of gear (like in my case I am primarily shadow spec and DPS but I also have decent gear to heal if needed. so that when they ask me to heal based on raid compositions it is much easier than looking for another healer.) Also especially now that is Patch 4.2 gearing really is not a problem. Now a days it is so easy to grind tokens and get decent gears off vendors or even just running 5 man Heroic dungeons.

E for Effort = "If you don't bring your A game every time for every second you are in the raid you are crippling yourself and the guild as a whole". I totally agree with this, It is like if you constantly dying in a fire, you probably better just to sit out because In my opinion E is also for being an Exceptional raider. if you need to fix any errors, learn from this survive and do better. If your DPS is low do not rely on someone else to point that out, fix it. If you are coming in last on DPS or heals find out what you can do better.

A for Adapt = "More fights are coming where you will need to do things you are not used to." Some fights now a days are mechanic based and not tank and spank. Like for me I only started to DPS when Cataclysm has released, Being a shadow caster besides healing was a great challenge for me I had to know rotations keeping my dots up so that I can put out great numbers based on my damage output. 

So the dummy's in Stormwind help me practice and when the next raid comes I am more adapt pretty much to any boss fights, It is also same situation where the raid leader yells to ask you to click one of the Gong's in Atramedes fight even though you have not done it before but you can adapt to the situation and next time you go there you will feel more confident and comfortable. And also if you made a mistakes in raids, just admit it and fix the issue. As Shadow said: "Save the drama for your Momma, if you are sucking it up on whatever admit it. If you can't fix the issue if you get replaced don't pout, go do some research Become and asset not a burden."

K for Knowledge of Fights = "I can't stress this enough if you are waiting to hear from a raid leader on what the overall "jest" of a fight is then you are doing it wrong." For me, Being a raider is a must  to have  knowledge of the fights. Why in the world come in the raid and wait for raid leaders to explain the fight to you that you should already know at least the basics of the fight right? I suggest being resourceful is also a key, watch boss fights through videos so you can understand the fights better.

S for Skills = "Raiding is like Gatorade is it in you?" If its not then you have to sharpen what you do until its reactionary. The guilds in Top 100 i.e Ensidia or Paragon didn't just wake in the morning and downed a content, but rather they found people with growing skills and made plans. In my opinion working and raiding in PTR helps a lot. In the raiding environment you have to put in the work to get good. This means you might have to step out of your comfort zone and talk to someone of your class and ask how it is they do what they do. 

I myself didn't know how to play a shadow priest until I asked one of our great shadow priest in the guild to help me out. and It improved my skills immensely, I was grateful that I asked for help and did not regret anything at all. Now I am also padding the meters when I am raiding with Vagrants guild in 10 man content. Also, We are not perfect though, I totally understand if someone f*cks up a lot, because we all do. But learn from your mistakes and try to fix it.

One of my guild mate Gardorian replied "End Game Raiding, is not everyone's thing. it takes a lot, a whole hell of a lot... many of us have played and played and worked up to this level and are proud to have become players that possess the skills needed to see and down content only 5-10% of players ever get to see. We can be then 1-3% of players that see ALL of the content, however for this, we need people to look at them self, see where they are lacking and work on it or come to realization that end game is not the place for you. People don't join the NFL or NBA because they like playing ball, they worked for it and they perform.

Overall this post has a lot of things that we can learn from each other especially those who are in Raiding environment. It is just matter of preparation in performing well, have knowledge of fights, putting extra effort, being resourceful, adapt to any environment, expanding your skills and also helping others. but being an elite raiders doesn't means being an ass in raids But It is about US being the best We can to be Elite Raiders..I know they may have some bad days of raiding, but everyone will try harder to succeed. It also encourage the guild to do better in progression, actually not only in my guild but to others as well. I acknowledge Shadow for the thoughts and made me realized how important it is to be a raider and to become an Elite Raider.

I Pug Zul Aman, Guess what happen?

Hi guys I did mention on my last dungeon run that my only free time to run another dungeon was after my finals this week, Good News! I passed my Psychology class. and I finally got my Zul'Aman done. It was fun despite the pug group I ran with was not doing a good job, I had to actually explain every boss fight to them because they have not been there even during Burning Crusade. But it was okay at least they are very good listeners and was able to got the first couple bosses down, but when we did after 3 of them they starting to leave, after they gotten their loots, I know right? sigh. I got a few loots myself too but I really don't need it since I already got some 359 item level equipped but I like the robe in ZA they are sexy. Here are the two items I got from a quest and last boss.

• Collar of Bones
• Robes of Dissention

My experience in this new Zul'Aman adventure was fun, but I hate to say that the Bosses was so easy to deal with but I fcking hate the trash! in the pug run today we actually keep wiping on trash and one shot bosses it was funny. but the last boss was a pain in the butt too. The Tank even whispered me this...and I told him >.< tell me about it because on the last boss I think we wiped like 3 times. I was top dpser, second was the tank and sadly the hunter and then the rogue, to think the tank was doing more than the 2 dpsers.

It was crazy, but at least we managed to get it done! trial and error as others were still learning the fight it was okay, but its sad when you know you expect too much that you thought everyone knows the fight and then when the fight starts no one has an idea how the encounter will go. Is it advisable to read strategies before queing themselves to run a dungeon? I think so, or at least have an experience because not only does it slows down the run, time is ticking that you expecting the run will be over not longer than an hour. because really though the place was a joke.

Guild progression this week is just about the same. Vanquish is still working so hard on heroic modes... I just hope that everyone will put more effort in clearing the content before another raid dungeons coming up for patch 4.2 is it too late for another progression to rise? No, because the raid dungeons will still be there unless they are really planning to go and raid 7 days a week right? I think they are just doing whatever they can and get it over with. I support them and wish them luck all the time. Also I am not bragging or anything but I was surprised with my damage output in Bastion Twilight with guildies today I did over 30K in Halfus fight. and when I logged back online this evening I actually forgot to equip my Cloak! I was wearing the Guild Heartstone like that ports you to Stormwind lolx. but I was doing a great job on damage! haha! I had to leave the raid though so I put my toon outside the instance.

Day 4: My Best World of Warcraft Memory

Hi guys, Today I will also post my Day 4 of 20 days WoW Blogging challenge over at Spellbound, and it is all about My best World of Warcraft Memories. I can't tell you that I only have one memory to share because I've been playing World of Warcraft for 5yrs now and that gives you an idea that there was a lot of memories all together from expansion to another. I also had a lot of fun memories when I managed my own guild. But since there's a lot of memories to share I will make sure it will be the best ones.

• First memory, was during Burning Crusade when I managed my own guild "Death Threat" well, besides being the guild that was fun and casual why not do something memorable right? so every time me and the officers talk over vent and after guild meetings we always have to put our tabard on, I mean just tabard and no other garments, we take screenshots, and videos it was hilarious! we also walk around Ironforge with our mounts and some players starting to join us and we made a long line walking with our mounts that was really unforgettable. I actually have a video that I uploaded in wegame during one of our timestoo, and I have few more raiding fun times with pug with my guild that I post over at Christine's blog go check them out too. 

• Second Memory, that I will never forget was with my guild in Eternal Sacrifice despite being in a hard core raiding guild in Khaz Modan during those times in Wrath of Lich King content, killing Ulduar bosses was fun! so while on break guild mates decided to mount up with just mammoths and take screenshots and run around Freya's room it was great! that is the first night we actually killed Freya and why not celebrate?! so we did. below is the screenshot I took with ES guild.

• Third Memory, It was during the time when I was helping my guild in Vanquish-Staghelm with the event for guild fishing derby to get the achievement "That's a lot of Bait" the prizes was 1st prize: 10,000 gold with 3 blue gems and pet destroyer. 2nd prize was 5k and 2 blue gems, and consolation prizes was a destroyer pets. I know I hate fishing but while at it I wanted to join so I can level my fishing skills, and I am also glad to be of help for the guild since we do need the Recipe for the feasts. So, every night I make sure I can fish lots of stack for me to mail to the officer and get tallied, even though you put a lot of effort and take time to fish, I was having fun and just didn't really expect much of it important is I was helping the guild. So the derby ended and the fishes caught was tallied and I won 1st Prize! I was so happy! that was a good memory and I was able to leveled up my fishing to 525, and I was happy that some guild mates took effort to help out too. great guild effort and team work!

Anyway, that is all for now, I can't narrow all of the fun memories I had playing with Wow but the one listed above are my best ones so far. I know there will be more of it later but I will cherished them all.
