Tag, Your It! Circle of Healing Questionnaire Version 2.0

Hi guys, Circle of Healing Questonnaire was originally created by Miss Medicina whom the reason I continue blogging, She was an inspiration and through this questionnaire it did helped me and learned a lot from other responses as well especially those priest's out there. It's a healing webring afterall, the community was amazed how the traffic flows to answer these questions. So Saunder of Non Squishy Heals thought about reviving the meme to get updates how our healing now a days from our fellow healers in the community.

So yesterday, I got a notification from my phone on my twitter. and as I was reading it Laerith of Totemic Grace and Navimie of The Daily Frostwolf tagged me to answer these questions. Thanks for the tag guys. But it's been a while I haven't been healing since 4.0 because I switch to dps since. So lately I haven't been keeping up with the latest updates of priest healing. But I will try my best to answer these questions, So please bare with me.

  • What is the name, class, and spec of your primary healer? Amerence, Priest, 6/32/3
  • What is your primary group healing environment? 10 man and 5 mans
  • What is your favorite healing spell for your class and why? Chakra and Holy word: Sanctuary are my favorite healing spell not only I was amazed the sparkle graphics of these spells, but does help a lot as a healer especially in a raiding environment.
  • What healing spell do you use least for your class and why? Smite I think is the least healing spell that I don't use. My build is not meant for Smite priest or smite healing, I am more to AoE priesting if I am healing. but some priest find this spell usefull and it does. but not for me.
  • What do you feel is the biggest strength of your healing class and why? I think choosing the right talent build and what spell points to put up to, As I was reading the guide by Narilka of Ensidia she said: Blessed Resilience is an excellent talent, especially on progress raiding because it will be up a lot of the time and simply clicking your own Lightwell will ensure that you get a very large amount of healing on yourself. Most of the other talents are obvious I think and self explanatory.
  • In a 25 man raiding environment, what do you feel, in general, is the best healing assignment for you? Since I switch guilds and currently just raiding in a 10 man environment, If given a chance or if my raid leader asks me to heal my secondary spec is holy that means I will be assigned to mostly raid healing because of my AoE healing spells than single target healing.
  • What healing class do you enjoy healing with most and why? Priest is the healing class I enjoyed healing with because she is the only healing class I have right now. But if I where to create a new healing class I always liked Shamans with the use of chain heals and totems and Druid with there tree forms and great spells too.
  • What healing class do you enjoy healing with least and why? I think Paladin? Well, Im not saying that this class is not good, because honestly Paladins are very powerful class too. the class is very powerful that it heals a tank most of the time that hits too much damage and does help the raid sometimes too. but what I don't like about it is that it mostly assigned to only single target healing because that is there specialty. But correct me if Im wrong because I never played a paladin and I think there are lots of changes now about the class.
  • What is your worst habit as a healer? Well, can't really tell you anything that is worst habit being a healer right now because it's been a while I haven't been healing as I said it before. but sometimes I do miss using my cooldowns when I am not paying attention that is up already.
  • What is your biggest pet peeve in a group environment while healing? In 5 man dungeons, when they know that I am already the healer of the group but some don't trust you and they keep reminding you to heal the tank, I hate that I already know my job and don't need to be reminded.
  • Do you feel that your class/spec is well-balanced with other healers for PvE healing? Well as a holy spec, I think healing the tank is not balanced but the good thing is switching to disc spec can do the work. so I think having these classes in raiding environment is useful and it balance the healing group to have a successful run.
  • What tools do you use to evaluate your own performance as a healer? I use World of Logs, Damage and Healing Meters, Officers and other healer's opinion, reading good insights from other Priest class blogs and sites. that helps me evaluate my performance if I am doing bad or not.
  • What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about your healing class? I think a misconception that other players thought about holy spec priest is that they are only good for healing the raid as AoE class healing spec. but honestly that is not true even if we are holy, we can actually solo heal and assigned to heal the tank and our cooldowns are very helpful for it.
  • What do you feel is the most difficult thing for new healers of your class to learn? All I can say is all healing class in game is not difficult to learn as long as you are resourceful enough to learn the class, read some guides, ask other experienced healers in game, and also self learning which I mostly did too.
  • If someone were to try to evaluate your performance as a healer via recount, what sort of patterns would they see (i.e. lots of overhealing, low healing output, etc)? If someone would try to evaluate my performance as a healer via recount the first thing they will notice is my healing output, what my 3 top heals would be and who I am healing to based on your assigned job. through that they can tell me if its low, average or high and if I am doing my job right or not.
  • Haste or Crit and why? a As a Holy spec Priest now a days I think haste is still important over crit, but the focus stats is Spirit > Mastery > Intellect > Haste > Crit, and as Narilka of Ensidia explained: Crit is still the weakest of the 3 HPS secondary stats in 4.2. You will need to take it on some items due to higher iLvL and lack of choice but you want to avoid it if possible.
  • What healing class do you feel you understand least? Paladins, I don't know much about it. All I know is that this class is also powerful on single target healing besides me healing as a disc priest before. So I like to learn more about there spells, talent and rotation.
  • What add-ons or macros do you use, if any, to aid you in healing? I have lots of addons to use. I will just provide the link of my last post that I list down what addons and interface I used, it is very important for me that my addons are useful and clean so its not cluster in front of my screen when I am raiding. Here is the link.
  • Do you strive primarily for balance between your healing stats, or do you stack some much higher than others, and why? Right now, and based to what I read about Holy spec Priest healers it is important now to stack Intellect it is going to be your best stat since it is your Primary stat. When selecting upgrades the highest iLvL item will often be the strongest due to having more Intellect. The next stat to aim for is going to be Spirit which is your best secondary stat. It gives you a lot of regen that you are going to need regardless of gear level. The only case where you should consider a non Spirit item is if it is a higher iLvL and has Haste and Mastery on it. - Narilka of Ensidia explained. And I agree with these.

So that ends the questionnaire of Circle of Healing Version 2.0 by Saunder. I would like to tag the following;

Can't wait to read your answers too, Thanks for the Tag guys and now Your it Matt, Rezznul, Rhyane, Psynister, Zelmaru and Jaslya! Have a great day guys! and Have fun always!
